Investigates potential biotechnological applications of phenazines, molecules that belong to a class of natural pigments, which can be used in the development of drugs, biopesticides, biosensor construction, among others, thus contributing to a more sustainable development for the planet.

João Victor Wolschick de Oliveira 

Undergraduate student in Chemical Engineering (UFSCar), working on the heterologous production of hyaluronic acid (HA) in recombinant Xanthomonas, a biopolymer in high demand in the pharmaceutical industry with a growing and promising market. Has interests in the areas of Biochemical Engineering and Bioprocess Engineering.

Undergraduate student in Biotechnology with an interest in the areas of biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, and metabolic engineering. Currently a FAPESP-funded undergraduate research student, analyzing different halogenases for the production of halogenated phenazines in E. coli.
